Cybersecurity Professionals Sentenced for BlackCat Ransomware Scheme
In a shocking turn of events, two cybersecurity experts, Ryan Goldberg and Kevin Martin, have been sentenced to four years in prison for their involvement in BlackCat ransomware attacks that targeted numerous U.S. victims in 2023.
Goldberg and Martin conspired with a third individual, Angelo Martino, to deploy ransomware, successfully extorting one victim for around $1.2 million in Bitcoin.
