Cybersecurity Alert: Brazilian Hackers Target Minecraft Players with New Malware
A cybercrime group from Brazil, known as LofyGang, has resurfaced after three years, launching a campaign that specifically targets Minecraft players. The new malware, called LofyStealer (also known as GrabBot), disguises itself as a hack named “Slinky” to deceive users.
Once activated, the malware collects sensitive information from various web browsers, including passwords, cookies, and credit card details, and sends this data to a remote server. Victims primarily include young gamers who trust the Minecraft community.
The impact of this attack could be severe, resulting in financial loss and compromised accounts. To protect against such threats, users are advised to avoid downloads from untrusted sources, use antivirus software, and regularly update their passwords.
