Title: Former Cybersecurity Employees Plead Guilty to BlackCat Ransomware Attacks

In a shocking turn of events, three former employees of the cybersecurity firm DigitalMint have pleaded guilty to their involvement in BlackCat ransomware attacks targeting U.S. companies. Angelo Martino, 41, along with accomplices Ryan Clifford Goldberg, 33, and Kevin Tyler Martin, 28, conspired to extort money from at least five organizations, including financial firms and nonprofits.

Between April 2023 and April 2025, the trio facilitated ransom demands and threatened data leaks, leading to substantial payments—one firm paid over $25 million. The group shared confidential negotiation details with BlackCat operators, maximizing their extortion efforts.

DigitalMint has condemned the actions of these former employees, stating their immediate termination upon discovery. To protect against ransomware, businesses are advised to implement robust cybersecurity measures, including regular backups and employee training.
