Ransomware Alert: Storm-1175 Targets Critical Sectors

A new wave of ransomware attacks has emerged from Storm-1175, a cybercriminal group based in China. Known for deploying Medusa ransomware, they rapidly exploit security vulnerabilities to breach networks, often within a day of discovering them. Recent attacks have notably affected healthcare, education, finance, and professional services in Australia, the UK, and the US.

Victims have seen their data exfiltrated and systems compromised, with intrusions impacting over 300 critical organizations. Microsoft warns that Storm-1175 has exploited numerous vulnerabilities, including those in popular software like Microsoft Exchange and SmarterMail.
