Cybersecurity Alert: REvil Ransomware Leaders Identified
In a significant development, Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) has revealed the identities of key players behind the notorious REvil ransomware group. Daniil Maksimovich Shchukin, also known as UNKN, and Anatoly Sergeevitsch Kravchuk are now wanted for their roles in orchestrating over 130 ransomware attacks across Germany, resulting in financial damages exceeding €35.4 million ($40.8 million).
These cybercriminals operated between 2019 and 2021, demanding hefty ransoms to decrypt stolen data. Victims included major companies like JBS and Kaseya, highlighting the widespread impact of such attacks.
