New macOS Malware “Infiniti Stealer” Targets Users Through Deceptive Techniques
A new macOS malware, dubbed “Infiniti Stealer,” has emerged, designed specifically to steal sensitive information from Apple computers. This infostealer spreads via a fake CAPTCHA page, tricking users into executing a harmful command in their Terminal, a technique known as ClickFix.
The malware primarily targets credentials from web browsers, macOS Keychain entries, and even cryptocurrency wallets. Users who fall victim to this attack risk having their private information exfiltrated and misused.
To protect yourself, avoid executing any commands from untrusted websites, especially those that mimic verification processes. If you suspect you’ve been affected, stop using your device for sensitive activities, change your passwords from a secure device, and run a full malware scan.
Risk Level: High. The emergence of such sophisticated attacks targeting macOS users underscores the importance of vigilance and caution online.
