Cybersecurity Alert: Coruna Exploit Kit Targets iPhone Users
On March 3, 2026, Google issued a warning about a dangerous exploit kit known as Coruna, specifically targeting Apple iPhones running iOS versions 13.0 to 17.2.1. This vulnerability has been linked to a series of high-profile attacks, including those aimed at Ukrainian users by a suspected Russian espionage group.
The Coruna exploit takes advantage of security flaws in Apple’s WebKit, allowing cybercriminals to gain control over devices. While Apple has released patches for newer iOS versions, older devices that cannot update remain at risk.
Affected users include anyone with older iPhone models still on these iOS versions. The impact could range from unauthorized access to personal data to potential financial fraud.
To protect yourself, ensure your device is updated to the latest software version. Go to Settings > General > Software Update. For added security, consider using trusted antivirus apps.
